Top LinkedIn Features You Should Start Using
LinkedIn is fast becoming the go-to platform for businesses and brands looking to reach their target audience. In this article, we will explore some of the key LinkedIn features that you can leverage to enhance your professional profile and achieve your career goals. LinkedIn is no longer simply a professional social networking platform. It is now used to build credibility, interest, and trust, as well as to create a plausible network. Whether you are a job seeker, a business owner, or a professional looking to expand your network, this guide will provide you with valuable insights and tips to make the most of some LinkedIn features. Including web link to your profile LinkedIn now allows you to add website links directly to your contact information. What is the benefit of this? This not only makes your website much easier to find with a single click (as on Instagram), but you can also edit the text into an eye-catching call to action, encouraging people to click through to your website. There are numerous other ways to enhance your LinkedIn profile. Use relevant keywords and hashtags throughout your profile, as well as a clear and professional profile photo. It’s also a good idea to show some personality – don’t be afraid to discuss your accomplishments or anything you’re particularly proud of. You can even change the URL of your LinkedIn profile to something more personalized and relevant to what you do. Consider a catchy title for yourself, such as “social media stud” or “queen of design”! Participating in LinkedIn groups LinkedIn groups are an excellent way to discover and interact with relevant content and other professionals in your industry. These groups can also be used to share and showcase your content, as well as insightful comments and questions, which is great for engagement. You can gain credibility, find quality leads, and share in-depth insights by sharing content through LinkedIn groups. The key is to find groups that are relevant to your industry and avoid spamming them with your content. Before you start promoting your content in a new group, look at the posts that have already been shared and engage regularly. That way, you can be certain that whatever you post is trustworthy and relevant, and that there is already an open, engaging discussion between you and the group’s participants. Using LinkedIn Newsletters to Expand Your Reach LinkedIn newsletters are an excellent way to increase your following while also showcasing your fantastic long-form content. LinkedIn newsletters, unlike feed posts, can be much longer and can include images, videos, and articles you’ve written. Users can also sign up for updates. Like a newspaper or magazine, but much more modern and interactive for the digital age. Sharing Native Video Content Sharing LinkedIn native video content – videos uploaded directly on LinkedIn or created on the platform itself – is key to getting your content seen in 2022. Unlike other videos, native video content auto-plays in your LinkedIn feed to immediately grab the reader’s eye – and we already know that video content garners more engagement than text posts. Using Creativity in Your Content Though LinkedIn was originally a social networking website used to connect with like-minded professionals, the type of content shared has become much more informal and relatable in recent years with the use of emojis, memes, personal anecdotes, and more. It’s critical to investigate what’s being shared on LinkedIn and experiment with your tone of voice and content style to see what your audience best relates to and responds to. Use polls, carousel posts (by uploading your images as a PDF), and articles to increase engagement. Use emojis liberally in your activity feed to create a mix of engaging and informative content. Captions that are simple and long are much more likely to be scrolled. LinkedIn Articles Publication Many businesses struggle with social media platforms because they are trying to get their point across with a limited word count (we’re looking at you, Twitter), or creating short and snappy content that still has value. Fortunately, LinkedIn articles solve this issue. LinkedIn articles are similar to other types of articles in that they are longer, in-depth posts with a character limit of 120,000 characters that can include images, videos, and other rich media – much like a blog post! LinkedIn articles can be used to share industry insights and expertise, advice for professionals in your industry, case studies, or even existing blogs from your website. Yilo Krobo District’s Amazing Umbrella Rock
The centuries-old Umbrella Rock is located in the Yilo Krobo District, approximately 22 kilometers from Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region. The mysterious rock is located about seven kilometers from Boti Falls, so tourists who visit Boti Falls usually take advantage of the opportunity to pass by and experience nature’s mystery. The top of the rock offers an incredible view of the surrounding valley as well as excellent photo opportunities. The rock’s shape is unique, with one large surface rock sitting beautifully on top of a smaller rock, creating an umbrella-like shape. This one-of-a-kind rock can comfortably accommodate 15 to 20 people while protecting them from rain or sun. According to Yilo Krobo natives, the rock was discovered by a hunter who had gone hunting in the forest decades ago. He returned to town, told his people what had happened, and led them to the strange-looking rock. Since then, the Umbrella Rock has grown to become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Eastern Region. The Umbrella Rock continues to astound tourists who are perplexed as to how such a massive surface rock could sit on such a small base for so long without falling or the smaller rock wearing away, causing a fall. A visit to the Umbrella Rock in Yilo Krobo is a must-see for any tourist visiting the Eastern Region of Ghana. Its unique shape, impressive balance, and cultural significance make it a fascinating and memorable destination. Be sure to bring your camera and capture the beauty of this natural wonder. Meet Monica Nancy Candny, First Class Maritime Engineering Graduate
Monica Nancy Candny, a female student at Accra’s Regional Maritime University, announced her graduation on LinkedIn. She mentioned in her post that she graduated with first-class honors, which is nothing short of amazing given that she was one of the probably very few women in her year group. The International Maritime Organization has outlined structures put in place to attract more women into the industry and to amplify the few who are already there as part of its Women in Maritime celebration this year. According to their website, women were barred from entering the maritime industry until 1988, when a few institutions opened their doors to them. 34 years later, the percentage of women in the industry is still far from equal to that of men. Women like Monica who show promise and excellence in the industry must be supported and celebrated in this regard. Monica, who is originally from Liberia, attended St. Michael Catholic School for her secondary education before enrolling in the Liberia Maritime Training Institute to pursue an associate degree in Marine Electrical Engineering. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from Regional Maritime University. Monica Nancy Candny wrote: “…Finally, I am leaving Regional Maritime University with flying Colors. The battle was not easy at all, but with God all things are possible. I am grateful for his grace, blessings, Favor, wisdom and Knowledge. Today I have graduated with first-class honor in BSc Marine Engineering, I am grateful to God. If were not for God where could I have been? Thanks to Liberia Maritime Authority, Liberia’s international ship and Corporate registries, Liberia Maritime Training Institute, my family, my mentors, Linkedin friends and everyone who contributed to my success. Thanks, for making me who I am today. The Liberia Maritime Authority ,Liberia International ships and corporate registries and Liberia Maritime Training Institute, Once again thank you so much for everything .I do appreciate your full support, effort, Care, and guidance. If you dream it you can achieve it…” Her post has received nearly 30,000 interactions, with people congratulating her and encouraging her to keep up the good work. Monica ended her post with the following quote: “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue counts. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” — Steve Jobs READ NEXT ON: Prof. Francis Allotey, First Ghanaian to Receive a Doctorate in Mathematics
